Editorial Standards

Our Editorial Policy & Standards

Transparency and editorial integrity are the foundation of everything we publish. This page details the specific standards, protocols, and independence policies that govern All About Health & Nutrition's editorial operation.

Our Core Commitments

Four Pillars of Editorial Integrity

These standards apply uniformly to every article, recipe, guide, and ingredient spotlight published on this site — without exception.

Source Verification Standards

All nutritional and health claims must be supported by at least one primary source: a peer-reviewed clinical study, a systematic review, or an established guideline from a recognized public health authority (such as the NIH, WHO, or Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics). We do not accept press releases, industry-funded position papers, or anecdotal evidence as sole sources.

Sources are cited in a references section at the end of each article. When a study's conclusions have been contradicted by more recent or comprehensive research, we note the scientific debate transparently rather than presenting a single viewpoint as consensus.

Recipe Testing Protocol

Every recipe published on All About Health & Nutrition is tested a minimum of three times by our recipe editorial team before publication. Testing evaluates: (1) accuracy of ingredient quantities and ratios, (2) cooking time and temperature reliability, (3) flavor balance and texture, (4) ingredient accessibility in standard supermarkets, and (5) suitability for home cooks without professional equipment.

Nutrition estimates are calculated using the USDA FoodData Central database and verified against at least one secondary source. We note when values are estimated due to product variability and always state serving size clearly.

Commercial Independence

We maintain a strict firewall between our editorial content and any commercial relationships. Advertising, sponsored partnerships, and affiliate arrangements do not influence the topics we cover, the products we mention, or the editorial conclusions we reach. No brand, supplement company, or food manufacturer has ever reviewed or approved our editorial content prior to publication.

When we include links that may generate affiliate commissions, we disclose this clearly at the top of the relevant content. Sponsored content, if ever produced, will be explicitly labeled "Sponsored" and separated from our independent editorial.

Correction & Update Policy

We take editorial accuracy seriously. When a factual error is identified — by our team or by a reader — we issue a formal correction promptly. Corrections are appended to the original article with a clear notation of what was changed, why, and when. We do not silently edit errors without disclosure.

Content is also reviewed for currency as nutritional science evolves. Articles are periodically updated with new research, revised recommendations, or corrected nutrition data. The "Updated" date displayed on each article reflects the most recent editorial review.

To submit a correction, please use our contact form and select "Factual Correction / Update Request."

Writer & Contributor Standards

All staff writers and contributing authors are evaluated for relevant expertise before being assigned editorial work. Writers covering nutrition science are expected to demonstrate familiarity with reading peer-reviewed research. Recipe contributors must have demonstrable culinary development experience. We do not publish AI-generated content as authoritative editorial.

Contributors are required to disclose any professional affiliations, financial interests, or consulting relationships that could represent a conflict of interest with the subject matter they are covering.

What We Do Not Publish

  • Claims that specific foods, supplements, or diets can cure, treat, or prevent diagnosed medical conditions
  • Extreme caloric restriction plans, medically unsupervised fasting protocols, or elimination diets presented as universally beneficial
  • Fear-based, shame-driven, or moralistic language around food choices and body weight
  • Undisclosed sponsored content or brand-paid editorial presented as independent journalism
  • Nutrition advice tailored to individuals with specific medical conditions without appropriate professional referral language
